What got you started with your love for Chevy and the Camaro? Well, my older sister worked for GM at the Linden NJ plant, so I’ve always been partial to GM brands especially Chevy, and I’d watch Nascar with my Dad on Sundays. I’ve loved the Camaro ever since it first came out, and over the past 30 years, this is my 5th Camaro.
Whats the Story Behind your 5thgen Camaro? When I got wind that GM/Chevy was bringing back the Camaro I knew it was inevitable that I’d be getting one. Like most of us when I saw it for the first time in Transformers, it was game over, and I just had to get an LS3 2SS/RS. Midnight is actually my 2nd 5th Gen. My 1st one was a 2010 1SS/RS, but couldn’t swing a 2SS at the time. This past summer in June I found or she found me. I was able to work out a trade, and brought Midnight home and I’ve been modding her ever since. I try to change something even if it’s small every month. My plan for Midnight has been to make subtle changes that still have a WOW effect without going overboard. And I’m proud of the fact that I’ve installed all my mods.
How did you come across ModernCamaro.com and what made you become a supporting member and stick around? I have been on other Camaro forums and had heard of ModernCamaro.com from one of my club members (5th Gen Camaros of the Carolinas). I liked the atmosphere here. It’s a lot more laid back and no drama, and everyone is friendly and helpful and more like a family.
How did the Camaro or Chevy in general change your life? That’s a hard one, because the Camaro has changed my life in ways that, frankly, I never anticipated. I have total strangers come up to me and compliment me and want to talk about my SS, and that’s never happened with any other vehicle I’ve owned in 30+ years, and I’ve owned a lot throughout my life. Wanting to share my passion with the new Camaro; I went in search to find a Camaro club around Greensboro, NC. I came across 5th Gen Camaros of the Carolinas, which are based in/around Charlotte. Having never been part of a car club I didn’t know what to expect, but I went in feet first and joined the club in late April 2011. That has to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My 1st event as a new member was at the Pilot Mountain cruise-in, which the club celebrated its 1 yr. anniversary. I was welcomed with open arms, and I have made so many close friends that I wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for my Camaro and Chevy for bringing back this icon. We’ve been to so many awesome places, and new ones to come, it has been a truly amazing experience. Lastly, getting asked by Ken (Camaro2SSRS) the November winner of COTM, to be part of CamaroNews.com as one of its bloggers. Never would’ve thought that I’d have the chance to have my views, opinions about Camaros get published on the net. It’s been one remarkable ride so far and I look forward at what is to come, and it’s all because of this wonderful car.
Finally do you have anything you’d like to say to ModernCamaro.com members or anyone else reading this interview? First off, a big round of applause to all nominees this month, as everyone’s Camaros are awesome. I’m honored and privileged to have won this award and a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who voted for me and Midnight for December’s Camaro of the Month. ModernCamaro.com, 5th Gen Camaros of the Carolinas, and CamaroNews.com are the finest groups out there and so glad to be a part of them. Once again, Thank You for this honor.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
