WOODHAVEN — Hundreds of Camaros are returning to Rodgers Chevrolet for the sixth annual Camaro show on May 10 2014.
Registration has begun for residents who would like to show off their Camaro or muscle car for free. Participants also can register the day of the show.
Customer Service Specialist Angela Osborne said Camaros are “iconic” and it “draws people’s attention.”
“If you are a car enthusiast, the sound of that rumble and the vibration you feel from that rumble cannot be duplicated,” Osborne said.
“The Camaro has a huge following, and we are one of the top Camaro dealers in the country.”
Each year, hundreds of people come to check out more than 150 cars on display.
Osborne said people come from locations including Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, Canada and Florida for the show.
The Camaro show is a fundraiser to raise money for Relay for Life of Woodhaven.
“Last year we raised over $2,000 from the Camaro show, and hope to double that this year,” Osborne said.
The Rodgers Chevrolet team also will host a fundraiser April 11 to 13 at Five Below, 19211 West Road. If a resident brings in a flyer from the dealership, 10 percent of the purchase will benefit Relay for Life.
Interested residents can pick up the flyer from the dealership.
“We like Relay for Life because cancer truly does affect most of us,” she said. “Someone from the dealership was diagnosed with cancer last year. That person is part of our family, and we stick together when family needs us.
“Relay also helps folks with all types of cancer. It’s a great organization that we are proud to be part of.”
Osborne said this is the company’s second year raising funds for Relay for Life and it hopes to be a top collecting team.
