Hi CamaroNews and all the Camaro brothers and sisters, for those who don’t know me my name is Brian Letare and I am the secretary for the Illinois Camaro Club. Last November out club was invited to have five of our club cars on display at the Chicago Auto Show. This was a huge honor for us. So on February 6 we had five Camaros (one of each generation) in trailers and headed to down town Chicago. As we were setting up our display I knew this was something special. The show opened to the public on February 9th and went through February 18th. When I worked our display I had a blast talking to all of the people that stopped by to see our display. It was great hearing all the stories of how a Camaro was somehow in their life. We have also gotten a lot of new members to our club after realizing that we are a very active club so we will be seeing a lot of new faces at club events this year. I am so proud of our club and after talking to Jason about this I just wanted to share with all of you.
Here is a list of the Camaros we had at the Chicago auto show:
The Camaros we had down there were Rich Gregory’s amazing 1st Gen Pro Touring Camaro that he had one side of his car on stands with the tires removed to show off all of the upgraded suspension and the massive brakes!
For our 2nd Generation Mike Tuminaro had his 1970 Z28 which was the unofficial most photographed car of the entire Chicago Auto Show! Everyone just loved “That green Camaro” From inside sources I hear Mike is still on a high on how much everyone was admiring his car!
For our 3rd Generation Dean Casmer had his 1990 IROC which was very nice example of a 3rd Generation! There were tons of comments of people saying “I had a car like that when I was in high school.”
For our 4th Generation Steve Bachorski had his 2002 35th anniversary L.E. Which his car had to have one of the smoothest paint jobs of the show, and I heard many people comment on that!
And finally for our 5th Generation Stefano Bimbi of NicKey Chicago had his 2013 ZL1 convertible stage 2 #001. His car was another very popular car with the public and with 850hp it was the car with the most hp of the entire auto show!
