Ah SEMA! I wish I was there enjoying the plentiful bounty of cars and happiness. It all began in 1963 when a group of small manufacturers who were suppliers of performance equipment for early hot rods organized their little industry and called it “Speed Equipment Manufacturers Association” (SEMA). And the rest is history. SEMA is a force to be reckoned with these days. Manufacturers, distributors, retailers, publishing companies, auto restorers, street-rod builders, restylers, car clubs, race teams and more flock to Las Vegas to enjoy the huge trade show. One of my favorite parts of SEMA is the unveiling of all those awesome concept cars. (i.e., This year the glorious Hot Wheels full scale Concept Camaro is definitely an eye catcher! Have you seen all those features? Enough to make any muscle car lover drool, especially if you add to the fact that you can also get it’s mini-version at http://www.hotwheelscollectors.com/. I think I hear a collective sigh of joy from inner childhood memories everywhere!) I know not everyone gets to attend this massive event, so I have to live vicariously right now through a few friends, and well, through the joys of the internet and the fact that photos and stories of SEMA are constantly being uploaded. Yay, for instant technology! See you online, because I know you will be checking out all the cool SEMA information too! Unless you are one of the lucky people who get to be there, then of course I am jealous of you, and I demand you start loading those pictrues faster! 🙂
