The YouTube channel RestoMods is one of the best places to see restored classic cars with modern engines, transmissions, and other amenities that brings these older machines into the 21st century. Whether it’s hosting a massive $20 million drag race, or putting an older restomodded Dodge Challenger against a 2022 Hellcat, there’s no shortage of excellent muscle car content.
In a recent video, the channel heads to SEMA 2022 in Las Vegas, NV to check out some of the best restomods that will even make them drool.
At the beginning of the video, the 2 Chris’ from RestoMods (Hedgecock and Esparza) arrive at the Las Vegas convention center for SEMA 2022. They let us know they are like kids in a candy store and will go through the event to show off the best restomods.
First up is a beautiful green 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS. This one is by Modern Driveline, a company that specializes in transmission conversions for classic cars. While we don’t get to see the engine choice for this beauty, we know that its Tremec transmission should have no issue handling a newer, more powerful engine. Modern blacked-out wheels and black racing stripes really help finish the look against the green paint.
Continuing on with the Camaro theme, we see a gray Z28 first-generation Camaro briefly. This one has an LS Swap with some Holley performance parts.
As the video continues, we see a first-generation Ford Mustang in white with black and blue stripes down the middle. This is a Mustang by Sony Car Audio. What stands out the most is the hard top that elevates above the car with what appears to be hydraulics of some kind.
In addition to the audio equipment by Sony, we see a nicely modified 5.0-liter Coyote engine and massive aftermarket dual exhaust pipes out the back.
After seeing several notable classics like twin-turbo Dodge Challenger, restored Chevy trucks, and many others, Chris and Chris head outside to the Optima Ultimate Street Car area. The section has some impressive restomods including a classic Dodge Challenger with a Hellcat engine and a bright blue second-generation Chevrolet Camaro with modern gold wheels.
Completing the video is a first-generation Ford Mustang Fastback race car. In addition to the Coyote 5.0-liter engine swap, there’s also a massive roots-style supercharger mounted to the top of the engine. The two Chris’ end the video stating that there were so many cool cars that it was hard to pick one favorite. We couldn’t agree more.
