The other day I saw several white Camaros (three, in fact) all pulled up and parked underneath a u-turn overpass of Highway I10 in Houston, Texas. I was wondering what was going on until I saw the faint markings on the side of those Camaros that said “police”. I must say, they did a good job with the ghost lettering on those cars. A few months ago, Houston Texans’ linebacker Mario Williams donated five Chevy Camaros to the Houston Police Department. Mario is a law enforcement enthusiast, and he received a humanitarian certificate to honor the donation. The sports cars are equipped with a police package that includes radar, low profile lights and ghost writing to allow them to blend in with regular traffic. HPD will use them on and off freeways to enforce traffic violations and to go after speeders. So now, five lucky muscle car enthusiasts, who happen to also be cops, get to do their job in style!
