2014 ZL1 plunges into community pool

HOUSTON (KTRK) — A brand Camaro ZL1 ended up at the bottom of a pool in northwest Harris County Friday afternoon.

It happened at the Kleinbrook community pool on Kleinbrook at Innsbruk. We’re told the driver was backing his brand new Camaro out of his driveway when he hit the gas instead of the brake, sending the vehicle with him inside, driving through a fence and into the pool.

The car quickly submerged to the bottom of the pool. Removing it was a more time-consuming effort, involving a crane brought in for the removal. A HazMat crew was called to the scene, and the pool was to be drained of all the water.

No injuries were reported.
